Project Summary:
Liftra, a global leader in wind turbine lifting and transportation solutions, needed a better way to manage their extensive library of components and assemblies. With over 200 development engineers working on various projects from different locations, Liftra required a system tailored to their engineering and organizational processes to ensure that all parts of the organization can always access the latest files effortlessly. We partnered with Liftra to design a custom desktop tool, Component Manager, that simplifies and optimizes this crucial part of their daily operations.
Solution:
We developed a dedicated desktop application, Component Manager, that allows Liftra’s engineers to efficiently categorize, search, and manage their components including CAD files, datasheets, revisions etc. Built through close collaboration and continuous feedback, Component Manager was designed to match Liftra’s specific workflows and technical requirements. The intuitive interface ensures ease of use, while advanced organizational features give users better control and faster access to vital CAD components and assemblies.
Because Liftra relies on SolidWorks for designing and configuring components, Component Manager was built with seamless integration in mind to support their existing workflow, assisting engineers in making 3D CAD files to 2D production drawing sets.
Outcome:
The Component Manager solution has improved Liftra’s ability to manage and utilize their CAD repository. Engineers now spend less time searching and organizing files and more time focusing on design and execution. The system has enhanced operational efficiencies across multiple departments and aligns closely with Liftra’s long-term goals for digital tool development.
